Marketing & visual art — Toronto, ON

I move things from "what if" to "here it is."

Marketing strategy, editorial design, and a stubborn art habit. Based in Toronto.

Harriet’s Rooftop

Editorial · Cover + feature

A magazine cover and a feature about a rooftop restaurant in Toronto, co-written with Kotomi Hyodo.

The thinking

The cover gives one photograph the whole page; inside, four narrow columns and a circular cut-out keep the eye moving between the story and the food.

Rock the Park

Poster / Visual communication

A four-day festival poster.

The thinking

The name gets the sky, the crowd gets the middle, and the lineup gets a clean lower third so you can actually find your band.

How I get there.

I start with the audience and the idea. Then I work out what needs to be said and how words and images can carry it.

Margin notes

I start with the audience.

I ask who it is for and what they need to understand.

I find the thread.

I look for the message that gives someone a reason to keep reading.

I put it on the page.

I bring words and images together, then look at what each one adds.

A little about me.
